Multicontinent TopoActive mapping, multi-band GPS, SatIQ technology, dynamic round-trip routing, NextFork guidance and advanced course navigation are also provided, making the Garmin fēnix 9 Pro suitable for exploration both on and off established routes.
Advanced training tools are supported by stamina metrics, Training Readiness, Training Status, VO2 max, Endurance Score, Hill Score, PacePro technology, ClimbPro, running dynamics, recovery information and daily suggested workouts. Continuous health and wellness insights are also provided through wrist-based heart rate monitoring, Pulse Ox monitoring, sleep tracking, HRV status, stress monitoring, Body Battery energy monitoring and additional health features. Up to 18 days of battery life in smartwatch mode, 64 GB of internal memory and extensive smart connectivity allow the watch to be used for training, navigation, communication, health tracking and everyday activity from one device.
A durable titanium case and titanium bezel are used to provide strength while keeping the watch lightweight. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal lens, leakproof metal buttons and a 10 ATM water rating are included. The watch has also been dive-rated and tested to U.S. military standards for thermal, shock and water resistance.
A 1.4-inch AMOLED display with a 454 x 454-pixel resolution is provided. Brightness of up to 3,000 nits allows maps, training information, notifications and health data to be viewed clearly in bright outdoor conditions.
LTE and satellite communication can be accessed with a compatible inReach subscription. Phone-free voice calls, text messaging, voice messaging, LiveTrack, weather information, location check-ins, Garmin Locate and interactive SOS functionality are supported.
When LTE connectivity is available, calls can be initiated and received through the Messenger Calls app with other Garmin Messenger users. Text and voice messages can also be exchanged through LTE or satellite connectivity without requiring a smartphone to remain connected.
Interactive SOS messages can be triggered using satellite or LTE connectivity. Emergency assistance can then be coordinated through the 24/7-staffed Garmin Response coordination centre.
Advanced training information is provided through Training Readiness, Training Status, VO2 max, training load, load ratio, Training Effect, Realtime Stamina, Endurance Score, Hill Score, recovery time and detailed performance metrics. More than 100 activity profiles are supported for training across multiple sports.
Running dynamics, PacePro pacing strategies, grade-adjusted pace, projected race time, race prediction, running tolerance, running economy and step speed loss can be tracked. Additional metrics can be accessed when compatible Garmin accessories are paired.
Adaptive and prebuilt coaching plans are supported for running, cycling, strength, fitness and triathlon training. Training plans can be adjusted according to health, fitness and performance information.
Multicontinent TopoActive maps, routable cycling maps, ski resort maps and more than 43,000 golf course maps are supported. Dynamic round-trip routing, NextFork navigation, ClimbPro, Up Ahead, turn-by-turn course directions and ABC sensors are provided for route guidance.
Premium mapping content can be accessed through Outdoor Maps+, including satellite imagery and enhanced topographic maps. Garmin Trails can also be used to access thousands of trails and send compatible routes directly to the watch for offline navigation.
